A Brief Introduction To
Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church

Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church is a unique, vital Christian community. It is characterized by warmth and friendliness, by its diversity, by the strength of its staff and lay leadership, and by a strong commitment to mission and ministry.

This congregation was formed in 1966 by the merger of the Fullerton and Christ Presbyterian Churches. The Fullerton Church was itself the result of a merger in 1932 of the Fullerton Avenue and Covenant Presbyterian Churches. These predecessor churches, with roots dating back to 1843, ministered in this neighborhood for many generations, surviving the Chicago Fire, the Great Depression, and many demographic changes. We strive to continue this long tradition of service and invite you to join our Christian community for worship, fellowship, and mission.

Our Sunday worship service combines both traditional and contemporary elements and reflects our Protestant heritage as well as our strong sense of community and lay participation. Our educational offerings encourage people to explore life and faith issues. We provide various opportunities for service within the church and society. Fellowship events are planned throughout the year.

Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church is a "More Light Church," which means that all Christians are welcomed to full participation and membership regardless of sex, age, race, ethnic background, disability, marital status, sexual orientation or worldly condition.

This congregation is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
