There are different gifts, but the same Spirit gives them.
There are different ways of serving, but the same God is served.
There are different forms of work, but all of them,
in all people, are the work of the same God.
I Corinthians 12:5
Program and Mission Opportunities
- Worship
The worship service is at 11:00 am. Nursery care is available and a time of refreshments and fellowship follows every service. Communion is celebrated at worship every month, usually on the first Sunday. The choir rehearses prior to worship starting at 9:00 am (except during the summer); new singers are welcome.
- Christian Education
KidSpace is church school for children and teens and meets in the Geneva Room at 12:00 pm on Sundays for Bible-related activities and snacks while their parents enjoy post-worship hospitality. The Sunday Forums offer educational programming for children and adults on one Sunday of every month following worship and the time of fellowship, and includes a light lunch. Various other adult education offerings are scheduled during special church seasons and at other times during the year. The Women's Book Group meets regularly throughout the year and holds an annual retreat in late winter.
- Mission
The congregation is involved in a number of neighborhood mission projects such as the Lincoln Park Community Shelter for the Homeless, The Night Ministry and The Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches.
- Fellowship
A number of fun events such as the Fall Gala, the all-church progressive dinner, LPPC Lunches, and other social occasions are planned throughout the year.
