As people of faith, lured by God's love, seeking to be disciples of Jesus
Christ, empowered by the Spirit, and striving for transformation, we at
Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church commit ourselves to this shared image of

Reflect God's grace, welcome, care and inclusiveness because:
- visitors, friends and members are welcomed, included and connected
- personal relationships are fostered, and social activities strengthen community at the same time, affirms that inclusive language will inspire new understandings in the presentation of and response to God's Word
- all are encouraged to full participation in our life and ministry
- Christ's love is recognized in the stranger
- we provide companionship for each other, lending an ear, a hand, or a visit
- we are a More Light congregation
Grow intentionally in numbers and diversity because:
- we reach out to all in our community and region regardless of human condition
- we offer engaging activities for visitors and new members
- our education, programming, and ministry meet diverse interests and needs
- our congregation is a sea of differing faces
- our worship and church school are growing in numbers of children, youth and adults
Share our gifts and share our tasks because:
- all of our resources are nurtured and sufficient: talents, wealth, people, the energy of the young, and the wisdom of the experienced
- we strive to balance the needs and celebrate the gifts of everyone
- people volunteer enthusiastically and we are renewed for the work we have to do
Offer inspired and inspiring worship because:
- the Holy Spirit is experienced and conveyed
- services are filled with diverse liturgy, lively music, and participants of all ages
- services include various styles and formats
- preaching is compelling and relevant
Provide programming that builds community, nurtures the spirit and focuses
on justice because:
- we focus on contemporary issues of the human community in our studies
- we offer active programs designed for all ages and interests
- education events provide a broad table of spiritual food to strengthen us
- we nurture an environment for spiritual healing with shelter from the rush of life, and leisure time to slow down
- we remain active leaders in issues of social justice locally and denominationally
Live, worship and minister in a welcoming building because:
- our building is one of integrity and beauty
- the functionality of the facility is optimized
- we host events and partner with others through use of the building to meet community needs
- our building meets the worship and programming needs of our household of faith
