Donate to Asylum Fund

Many of you know that Chicago is in the midst of a housing crisis. Rents have skyrocketed and there is not enough low income and affordable housing available. The crisis that is ongoing has been taken to a whole new level with thousands of refugees and asylum seekers being sent to Chicago. LPPC began housing asylum seekers 4 years ago and we are currently housing a family of four. The situation is dire in the city with migrant families being housed on the floor in police districts. There are more than 700 people living in police districts across the city.

We have decided to convert our meeting room into a space for a second family to live. Because we accompany these families until they can get work authorization, find a job, save money, and get into an apartment, we need to raise money for their support. With supporting two families, we are planning for $1400 per month or $16,800. We currently have $2500 in our fund.

Would you be willing and able to be a part of this effort? If you can contribute money to an Asylum Fund for them that would be great! Any amount helps. All donations are tax deductible as Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church is a non-profit organization as a church.

You can Donate to Asylum Fund by clicking the button below. You can also bring/mail a check/cash to church on Sunday or to the office during office hours if you prefer (Please indicate donation is for ‘Asylum’).

Thank you for your generous help! It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
